Studying Physiotherapy during COVID-19 Pandemic: AUKM Graduate’s Reflection

The article offers a reflective account on the educational experiences of physiotherapy students during the COVID-19 pandemic. It outlines how Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO) significantly disrupted clinical placements, industrial training, and conventional classroom teaching, necessitating rapid transitions to online learning methods. Students faced challenges such as the cancellation of overseas training programs, adjustments in clinical postings, and conducting Online Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE). The shift to virtual environments brought logistical and emotional hardships, notably reducing essential hands-on clinical practice. Despite these challenges, the article underscores the adaptability of students and educators in adopting virtual lectures and remote research methodologies. It highlights the resilience and personal growth fostered through navigating these unprecedented educational disruptions, advocating appreciation of these challenging circumstances as unique opportunities for self-improvement and advancement within the evolving landscape of healthcare education.
